This handmade patchwork quilt was created by Nora (Adams) Cramer (1884-1974) of Motley, Minnesota. The quilt is constructed of alternating blocks of calico and white cotton that is quilted with white cotton store string. Nora was born in Iowa on August 5, 1884. On November 4, 1907, she married Allen Harlan Cramer in Oregon. Nora and Allen lived in Oregon, Idaho and Iowa before coming to Minnesota in 1916. In 1935, they moved to a farm in Motley. Nora and Allen had four children – Dallas, Darrell, Russell and Wanda.
