The Region 5 Development Commission has been instrumental in starting and supporting the Region 5 History Coalition. It has also been working to pull together the various history, arts, and education (schools, libraries, etc.) organizations in order to encourage them to be aware of one another and to partner on projects.
One of the partner projects that Region 5 has implemented is a shared public access calendar. This calendar allows each history, art, and education organization that signs up to post events to the calendar, which can then be viewed by other organizations and the public.
The calendar will allow us to see how many events are occurring across the region, along with which events are competing for audiences. We’ll be able to determine whether there are potential partnership opportunities by examining the calendar.
MCHS has signed on to the calendar and I spent (not much) time this past week entering our full slate of September events. The application is easy to use and I encourage all our regional history, arts, and education organizations to sign up. Call Nicole at Region 5 at 218-894-3233 to get started.
I’ve put a link to the calendar in the right sidebar. The link will take you to the current month’s calendar. If you want to see different months, use the navigation tools at the top of the calendar. You can also access the calendar through a link on the Region 5 home page.
