This Wes Sod greeting card features a pen and ink self-portrait of the artist as a casual, though chivalrous, knight. Sod was one of three sons of Iver F. and Ester Maude (Engstrom) Sod. Iver and Ester were married in St. Paul, Minnesota, on October 21, 1922, after Iver had completed a tour of duty with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I. During World War II, he served with the Eighth Air Force in England. A career military man, Iver retired as a Colonel, having served in the United States Army from 1914-1945.
