One group of people who immigrated to Morrison County en masse was the Polish. If you’re interested in your Polish heritage, you’ll want to attend “Tracing Your Polish Heritage,” an all-day seminar scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2007. The event is sponsored by the Polish Genealogical Society of Minnesota, the Morrison County Genealogy Society, and the Polish Echos of Little Falls.
There will be three sessions during the seminar. Greg Kishel, of the Polish Genealogical Society of Minnesota, will discuss research techniques for tracing Polish families. Robert Prokett will talk about the history of the Polish community in Morrison and Benton Counties. Session three will examine how to overcome “brick walls” in your family research. Beginners are definitely encouraged to attend.
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., with the first session beginning at 10:00 a.m. Lunch is included in the registration fee, which is $15 in advance. The seminar ends at 3:00 p.m. This event will take place at the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls, MN.
The Morrison County Historical Society (that’s us!) will have a table of information available during the seminar.
