This morning we had a couple of visitors from U.S. Bancorp at the Weyerhaeuser Museum, Mike Markman, Mid – NE Minnesota Region President, and Rich Varriano, Senior Vice President for Asset Sales/Disposition. They stopped by to donate several interesting items to the Morrison County Historical Society’s collections. These framed items came from the former U.S. Bank building in downtown Little Falls. This was originally the First National Bank building, part of what was known as Bank Square at the intersection of East Broadway and First Street.
The items include a photo showing an overhead view of the marble bank counter with tellers at the bank, a framed 50th anniversary collection of items related to Charles A. Lindbergh’s historic trans-Atlantic flight, two enlarged, framed photos of downtown Little Falls, a pair of framed documents showing First National Bank’s “Statement of Conditions As of June 30, 1941” and list of lead management team and directors, and a framed document advertising First National Bank’s service selling “A.B.A. Travelers’ Checks.”
We enjoyed showing Mr. Markman and Mr. Varriano the exhibits and chatting with them about local history. We thank them for making this contribution of items from U.S. Bank to the collection.
