2020 November New Member Month at MCHS
“Members are at the heart of the Morrison County Historical Society,” according to Mary Warner, executive director for the organization. “We have been a membership organization from the very beginning, at our founding in 1936. It is through our members that we are able to collect, preserve, and share county history.”
MCHS owns and operates The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in Little Falls, MN. It cares for tens of thousands of collections items, including three-dimensional artifacts, family files, past county newspapers, books, photographs, ledgers, maps, and a wide variety of archival materials related to all aspects of Morrison County’s history. The collection also includes history of the area before the county was formed, from the history of Indigenous peoples to archaeology.
November is New Member Month at The Morrison County Historical Society (MCHS). While people may join MCHS as members at any time, November New Member Month brings with it an extra benefit.
Those who establish new memberships in November can choose to receive a free copy of “A Big Hearted Paleface Man: Nathan Richardson and the History or Morrison County, Minnesota,” a book published by MCHS, or 1 hour of free research by museum staff.
In addition, all MCHS members receive 4 newsletters per year and discounts on events and select items from the museum’s gift shop.
To become a new member of the Morrison County Historical Society, visit https://morrison-county-historical-society.square.site/ to purchase a membership at MCHS’s online shop during the month of November. Or call the museum at 320-632-4007 to request a November New Member form. Gift memberships can also be established and MCHS can set up sustaining memberships.
