It’s snowing today in central Minnesota. When I looked out my window at 7:30 this morning, the flakes were coming down, but not seriously. It didn’t appear that there was much accumulation. By the time I was ready to leave the house, the snow had picked up. When I cleared my car, more snow was on it when I had finished and I had to clear it again. Visibility is about one city block.
When I got to the museum, the sidewalk was ready to be shoveled. I think there was about 2 inches worth of snow on the ground when I started shoveling. The snow is accumulating so fast, however, that by the time I was done shoveling 40 minutes later, I had to start over. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a minimum of 6 inches.
Due to the weather, the Morrison County Historical Society board meeting that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed to next Thursday, March 5. The museum will be closing at noon today (in about an hour). If we can properly dig ourselves out, we’ll be open our usual time tomorrow (10-5), with Conversations with Jan to be held at 1:30.
There are many early school closings around the county, which you can check here.
If you don’t have to travel, don’t. If you do, please be careful.
