Are you looking for a way to get involved? Do you desire to be of service and use your skills for a rewarding purpose? Do you like history?
The Morrison County Historical Society (MCHS) is looking for people of varying talents to serve as volunteers on the following committees: Community Visibility, Finance, and Personnel.
The Community Visibility Committee assists the organization in becoming better known throughout the community via events planning, strategic marketing methods, and membership drives.
The Finance Committee monitors the financial activity of MCHS and makes recommendations to the board for the long-term financial health of the organization. It assists in setting the annual budget, reviews and makes recommendations concerning capital expenditures, the use of undesignated donations, salaries and benefits, and other unbudgeted operating expenditures. It also oversees fundraising and capital campaigns.
The Personnel Committee makes recommendations to the board regarding staffing needs at the museum, reviews employee salaries and benefits, periodically reviews and updates personnel policies, interviews candidates for potential employment with MCHS, and assists in resolving employee issues.
The mission of MCHS is to preserve and share Morrison County’s history. It owns and operates The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in Little Falls, MN.
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer on one of MCHS’s committees, please contact Mary Warner at 320-632-4007 for more information.
