Next Monday, January 24, 2011, the Morrison County Genealogy Society will be meeting at the Weyerhaeuser Museum. Staff will be discussing the resources available to genealogists at the museum.
At 6 p.m., during the sharing session, Museum Assistant Alice Smuda will explain what can be found in the probate files. Alice has been organizing and indexing the probates for many years and has a good working knowledge of what information can be found in them.
At 7 p.m., during the meeting proper, Museum Manager Mary Warner will talk about the many other resources at the museum, including the Family Files, newspapers, photos, and microfilm collection, among other things.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
