A few weeks ago I posted a list of French-Canadian genealogy links sent to us by a researcher. I’ve been meaning to post the rest of the researcher’s list and am now getting around to it. These are links to more general genealogy resources online, plus a few for German ancestry.
FamilySearch from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (This is also listed on our Online Resources page.)
1862 Homestead Act – Federal Documents
Pilgrim Ship Lists by Date (early 1600s)
CensusFinder – Minnesota Census Records (MCHS has state and federal census records on microfilm for Morrison County. They can be viewed at the Weyerhaeuser Museum.)
Cyndi’s List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet (This is also listed on our Online Resources page.)
Heritage Quest database – available to Great River Regional Library members who have a library card.

According to our researcher, the following are great resources for researching German ancestry:
Illinois Statewide Death Index
Illinois Statewide Marriage Index
KarensGen.com – Karen S. Rowe’s personal genealogical info
