These well-mended navy blue net gloves are part of the wedding shower ensemble of Lillian Irene Jackson. The ensemble includes a navy blue net dress with pink trim and taffeta underskirt and a matching navy blue brimmed straw hat. All of the pieces are on display at The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in the East Hall Showcase Exhibit area.
Lillian Irene Jackson was born in Little Falls, Minnesota, on November 19, 1905, to John and Jenny (Thompson) Jackson. Lillian grew up in Little Falls and worked as a schoolteacher in Little Falls, Royalton and Minneapolis before her marriage. On June 23, 1934, Lillian married local businessman, David Leonard Larson, at the First Lutheran Church in Little Falls. David owned and operated various gas or grocery businesses throughout his career, including the Larson Oil Company and the Larson Food Store. One of David’s older brothers, Paul, was the founder of Larson Boat Works and Crestliner, Inc. David and Lillian had two children – Karen Ruth and Rachel Carol.
