The Morrison County Historical Society is hosting a book talk about lumberman Frederick Weyerhaeuser on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the Carnegie Library in Little Falls.
Author Judith Koll Healey will make a presentation on her book “Frederick Weyerhaeuser and the American West.” Healey’s biography covers the beginnings of Frederick’s timber empire and how it expanded from Rock Island, Illinois, up into Minnesota. The Pine Tree Lumber Company, which operated from 1890 to about 1920 in Little Falls, Minnesota, was part of Frederick’s business. He sent his son Charles to Little Falls to oversee the company.
After her presentation, Healey will be available to sign books, which can be purchased at the event.
The book talk runs from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Carnegie Library, which is located at 108 Third Street NE, Little Falls. This event is open to the public. Admission is free. For more information, call 320-632-4007.
