I’ve been dropping hints about this for the past several weeks and now it’s time to let everyone in on the big secret. With the help of our friends, we’ve published a new book here at the Morrison County Historical Society.
The book is called “You Eat That?!? The Anti-Recipe Recipe Book.” For several years we collected the impromptu concoctions our visitors ate, the stuff people munched that was quick and easy to put together. Some of these are the sort of thing that cause others to say, “You eat that?!?” Concoctions like a Pink Meat, Pudding & Doritos Sandwich, or popcorn and salsa, or fried crickets. People of all ages had fun recording their concoctions and the history behind them. Once we had enough of them collected, we decided that creating a recipe book was the thing to do.
“You Eat That?!?” has been published through our Cafe Press store and can be purchased there, as well. We will also have copies available for sale in our gift shop at the Weyerhaeuser Museum within a couple of weeks.
The book has been designed with two different covers (same interior content), so you have your choice.
This is a fun little book (softcover, 138 pages) that will make a great holiday gift.
We’ll be hosting an event at the Weyerhaeuser Museum in Little Falls on December 6, 2009, to celebrate the book’s release. (You can bet there’ll be food, but what we serve may be a surprise.) More information on the event will be forthcoming.
