With the benefits of updating technology, there are always things that get left behind. With our brand-new research room computers running on Windows 11, the software for our microfilm reader is no longer compatible. We’ve tried everything to get it to work (including cracking open the PC tower itself and messing with the ports!) but it seems there’s just no saving it.
We will be pursuing a legacy grant in April to help us purchase a new microfilm reader, but until then (and until the new unit can arrive) we will have to go back to consulting our hard-bound newspapers.
Please bear with us for the time being, and soon enough we’ll be back and even better than ever!
