“Kira Cub” is a long-time nickname of mine. I was always the youngest in groups, and with the nickname bears slowly became a part of it. Ursa Minor has always held some meaning to me. First off—bears! That’s obvious. Bonus, it was the little bear.
It also has the star Polaris, the north star. Between being a great symbol of both the North and my home, it also reminds me of my many family members who enjoy exploration via snowmobile. Polaris is a navigation tool, and while it may be part of the younger bear, she will always know her direction in life.
My husband and I wanted to get something meaningful to us when we hit our first year. No matching tattoos here. However, still similar.
