We Want Your Weyerhaeuser Memories!

This year, our organization is celebrating two big milestones. First, 2026 is the 90th anniversary of the Morrison County Historical Society, founded July 28th, 1936 out of a Works Progress Administration project to collect and document histories of the county and biographies of its residents. It’s also the 51st anniversary of the opening of the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum, which was officially dedicated on August 24, 1975, adopting the Weyerhaeuser name to recognize his contributions to the area, and as gratitude for Carl Weyerhaeuser and Robert and Sarah (Weyerhaeuser) Sivertsen’s generosity in helping fund the construction of the building.

We feel very lucky to have reached these two grand achievements, and we’re especially grateful for nearly a century of dedication to the people of Morrison County and their history. 

To commemorate these momentous occasions, we want YOUR Weyerhaeuser memories. Guests, members, researchers, volunteers, former employees, we want to hear from ANYONE and EVERYONE who may have a Weyerhaeuser story to share.

Was there an exhibit that stuck out to you? Did you learn something new about your family? Do you remember your school tour like it was yesterday? Did you have a great discussion with a staff member? Was there a cute animal in the courtyard during your tour? Were you not expecting a museum stop on your hike? Anything! If the Weyerhaeuser ever made even the slightest impact on you, we want to hear about it.

With your stories, we’d like to put together a collection of memories for a physical and online exhibit. If you would like to be a part of this project, you may share your Weyerhaeuser story with us in a number of ways!

Your memories will become not just a part of our collection, but a part of the history of the Weyerhaeuser, too. If you’d like to share your story but stay anonymous in the exhibits, please indicate this in your message or check the appropriate box below. There is no minimum or maximum word count you need to reach, just tell your story.
